Karoline Rerrie
Karoline is an illustrator who creates images using drawing, painting, silk screen printing and Japanese Gocco printing. She sees her work as a craft and strives to maintain a hand drawn and handmade element keeping digital input to a minimum. It is this premise which initially led her to explore printmaking and she now designs, makes and sells a range of multiples including greetings cards, artists’ books and prints. Karoline regularly exhibits her work at artists’ book fairs and also in galleries around the UK. As well as printmaking her illustration subject to a wide range of other influences including natural history, archaeology and folk arts and crafts from around the world. Since concentrating more on silk screen printing she has become particularly interested in Eastern European traditions and her most recent designs explore elements of Polish folk art.
