Katherine Tromans
Primarily practicing as an Illustrator Katherine enjoys translating text into image. Her work is inspired by stories, fairytales and the mind; and will often draw upon places that she has visited, with snippets of these locations featuring in her paintings and drawings. This is evident in her ‘Paradise Series.’ The Paradise paintings are the result of the participation of others; by working with descriptions of different individuals’ imagined paradises Katherine creates otherworldly and captivating imagery. In terms of medium Katherine uses pencil in a delicate and refined manner, creating web-‐like structures that offer a fluidity to the work. Her palette is luminous and vibrant, choosing colours you would not normally associate with the subjects she chooses. Katherine has worked for a variety of clients and enjoys working on a new and exciting projects. She is currently involved with creating album artwork and is now working towards creating new series of paintings.
