Comparing to life in today, old times is always romantic and beautiful for many people, because personal memory is subjective. Lots of imaginations and personal emotions were insert into the opinion of old times.
The vintage object is very close to people’s lives in the past and important to people’s memories. Comparing to the high- tech products are changing so fast in modern society, the vintage objects are more invariable and elegant. The trace of time on them is so evocative, it brings lots of stories，memories and imaginations.
So I chose four photos of vintage objects to make collage with vintage illustrations and drawings. I tried to give new meanings to each vintage object, they are not only the objects they used to be but also something new, which are surrealistic and ridiculous. I explored how people imagine the life in the past, and how they think about themselves and the world. That is what I want to say about past and our memories.
